Alvera brings with her a wealth of knowledge and creative artistry, not only from the Talmud and Kaballah, but also from her experience as a certified Yoga Instructor and Dancer. Alvera has 12 years of experience evaluating and treating various disorders. Her work history includes; hospitals, public schools, community centers, assisted living centers and various public/private agencies.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Fundamentals
Whether she is treating depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, Phobias, women's (dating/sexual) issues or marital issues; though the intervention and treatment will differ from case to case; CBT Therapy works in the here-and-now. It is empirically-based, goal oriented, problem focused, collaborate and active (I.E., Behavioral rating scales, in-vivo therapy, relaxation techniques, homework assignments, role-play, reading assignments, systematic desensitization, guided imagery and disputation of irrational beliefs (REBT).
